Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, hobbies, interests, etc.). *
I am 49 years old soon to be 50. I am a typical cubicle jockey for work and I work in the corrugated industry. I am married to the most supportive husband EVER and we have two fantastic cats. I am a huge foodie and finally learning to balance food and fitness to make it a lifestyle.
Which affiliate box are you training at? Which class time do you usually attend? *
When did you start doing CrossFit? *
A friend had been trying to get me to try it. One day at the grocery store I bent down to tie my shoe and realized I couldn't without contorting my body. That is when I decided to make some changes.
How did you hear about CrossFit and what was your first workout? *
My friend Melissa was the first person I knew that did crossfit and she helped me get started at FIG. My on ramp wod was 21-15-9 of KB swings and burpees. It was rough.
What were you doing before CrossFit and how were you introduced to CrossFit? *
I had always dabbled in working out on and off. When I started crossfit I was doing nothing but RX'ing sitting on the couch. Walking even a 1/2 mile gave me so much pain at that point.
How has your approach to CrossFit changed since first starting? *
I 100% love crossfit, my box, my coaches, and my community. I used to dread going and once or twice in the beginning never got out of my car to go in. There are still days that paralyze me with fear but for the most part I'm proud that I do this at my age and the things I've accomplished, and still have yet to accomplish.

What types of changes have you seen (mentally, physically, and/or lifestyle) since starting CrossFit? *
Empowerment! I believe in myself and the things I can do. I have more energy than I ever have in my life. I've lost over 50 pounds so far.
What helps you get the most out of your CrossFit Workouts? What motivates/inspires you?
Hands down the community.
What would you say to someone starting CrossFit for the first time? *
If I can do it, you can do it. It will change your life.
